Mars Racing Kicks Off 2025 Campaign in Wild West Shootout

JANUARY 12, 2025 - - - A $25,000 paycheck was up for grabs in the grand finale tonight at Vado Speedway Park.  Sammy Mars stopped the clock seventh quickest in Group B during the time trial session prior to placing fifth in his loaded heat race.  Following a triumph in his B-Main, Sammy picked off six competitors during the 50-lap feature to leave the desert with a respectable twelfth place performance.

JANUARY 11, 2025 - - - The penultimate event of the Wild West Shootout miniseries was on tap earlier tonight in the desert.  Sammy Mars toured Vado Speedway Park fifth quickest in Group B during the qualifying session prior to placing third in his loaded heat race.  After starting the 40-lap headliner from the outside of the fifth row, Sammy slipped back a few spots to finish the $10,000 to win contest in the fourteenth spot.

JANUARY 10, 2025 - - - After several days of snowy weather, the #28 team was back at it again tonight at Vado Speedway Park with a $10,000 winner’s check on the line.  Sammy Mars went fourth fastest in Group B during the Super Late Model qualifying session and later nabbed the third transfer spot through his heat race.  The Menomonie, Wisconsin native then started the 30-lapper from the outside of the sixth row and was battling hard for a position inside of the top ten when he was involved in a multi-car tangle on lap 22.  Unfortunately, the incident dropped Sammy to a disappointing twentieth place effort tonight in Vado, New Mexico.

JANUARY 9, 2025 - - - Tonight’s rescheduled third leg of the Wild West Shootout miniseries at Vado Speedway Park in Vado, New Mexico was scrapped after additional inclement weather blanketed the dirt oval with snow.  Action in the desert is slated to fire back up on Friday, January 10 - weather pending.

JANUARY 8, 2025 - - - Due to cold weather and the possibility of snow showers in Vado, New Mexico, Wild West Shootout officials have pushed back tonight's scheduled program to Thursday, January 9.

JANUARY 5, 2025 - - - Round two of the Wild West Shootout miniseries took place tonight at Vado Speedway Park and a $10,000 top prize was up for grabs for the ground-pounding Super Late Models.  Sammy Mars stopped the clock ninth quickest in Group B during time trials and later slipped to seventh in his heat race.  Sammy then advanced past three cars to nab the second transfer spot through his B-Main and rolled off from the outside of the tenth row in the 40-lapper.  At the conclusion of the contest, the Menomonie, Wisconsin ace was credited with a seventeenth place showing.

JANUARY 4, 2025 - - - The 2025 season for the Mars Racing team got underway earlier tonight at Vado Speedway Park in Vado, New Mexico.  The first round of the Wild West Shootout miniseries shelled out a $25,000 paycheck for the Super Late Models.  With 47 competitors on hand, Sammy Mars laid down the seventeenth fastest time in Group B during the qualifying session prior to running seventh in his heat race.  Unfortunately, Sammy then suffered a flat left rear tire in his B-Main while battling hard for a transfer spot, which dropped him to a thirteenth place effort in the consolation race and kept him out of the 50-lap headliner.
