Mars Racing Tackles Wild West Shootout to Start 2026 Campaign

JANUARY 17, 2026 - - - With added purse money tonight at Central Arizona Raceway, the penultimate event of the miniseries shelled out a $15,000 first place prize.  Sam Mars placed sixth in both his heat race and his B-Main prior to running fourth in the Pro Power Dash for non-qualifiers.  Sam unfortunately missed out on the 40-lap main event that was won by Garrett Alberson and motor issues tonight also forced him to scratch from Sunday’s $25,000 to win Wild West Shootout grand finale.

JANUARY 16, 2026 - - - The stars and cars racing with the Wild West Shootout at Central Arizona Raceway took to the racetrack tonight for the fourth round of the miniseries.  With a $10,000 paycheck up for grabs, Sam Mars finished eighth in his loaded heat race prior to advancing up to fourth in his B-Main.  The Menomonie, Wisconsin standout then moved past four competitors during the 30-lap sprint to land in the twentieth finishing position.

JANUARY 14, 2026 - - - Following a few days off, the dirt-slinging action in the desert heated back up tonight with round three of the Wild West Shootout miniseries.  A 42-car field was on hand at Central Arizona Raceway to do battle for the $10,000 winner’s check.  Sam Mars unfortunately could not find his way into the 30-lap main event after running seventh in his loaded heat race and eighth in his B-Main.

JANUARY 11, 2026 - - - Round two of the Wild West Shootout miniseries took center stage tonight at Central Arizona Raceway and a $10,000 top prize was up for grabs for the ground pounding Super Late Models at the Casa Grande, Arizona facility.  Sam Mars stopped the clock twelfth fastest in Group B during time trials prior to running sixth in his loaded heat race.  Following a fifth place effort in his B-Main, Sam won the Pro Power Dash to earn the final starting spot in the 40-lap main event.  The Menomonie, Wisconsin ace then powered past eleven competitors during the A-Main to earn Hard Charger honors and a fourteenth place performance.

JANUARY 10, 2026 - - - Sam Mars lifted the lid to his 2026 racing season earlier tonight at Central Arizona Raceway in Casa Grande, Arizona, as the Wild West Shootout miniseries kicked off with a $25,000 to win Super Late Model extravaganza.  Piloting the familiar #28 for Mars Racing, Sam started his evening by clicking off the thirteenth quickest lap in Group B during the qualifying session.  After finishing sixth in his heat race and eighth in his B-Main, Sam was unfortunately forced to watch the 50-lap headliner that was ultimately won by Ricky Thornton, Jr.
