MAY 17, 2026 - - - On May 15-16, the #28 team trekked to the state of Minnesota for a pair of Structural Buildings WISSOTA Challenge Series showdowns. At I-94 EMR Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minnesota on Friday evening, Sam Mars qualified second fastest in his group during time trials before slipping to finish fourth in his heat race. Sammy then encountered some problems during the $3,000 to win feature and retired from the 40-lapper in the twentieth position.
At Viking Speedway in Alexandria, Minnesota on Saturday night, the inaugural running of the ‘Jeff Hinkemeyer Memorial’ was on tap and a $4,013 payday was up for grabs. Sam went third quickest in his group during qualifying prior to placing third in his heat race. The young Menomonie, Wisconsin ace then vaulted up inside of the top ten during the 30-lap feature and was paid for a solid tenth place effort.
