Mars Victorious in Local Late Model Division in USA Nationals!

AUGUST 4, 2024 - - - Sammy Mars’ win total for 2024 now stands at seven following a hectic ‘USA Nationals’ weekend at the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin!  In the local Late Model division on Saturday night, August 3, Sammy won his heat race in preliminary action and later started the 25-lap main event from the outside of the second row.  He then came out top of the A-Main to secure the $2,500 first place prize money ahead of runner-up Tony Bahr, James Giossi, Trent Follmer, and Cory Crapser.  Earlier in the weekend, Sammy wound up twenty-sixth in the rain-postponed feature on Friday afternoon and tenth in the regularly-scheduled main event on Friday evening.

The World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series was also in action at CLS over the weekend.  After unfortunately missing out on both $6,000 to win prelim features on Friday, Sammy finished sixth in his Last Chance Showdown prior to winning the Last Chance Qualifier.  The Menomonie, Wisconsin ace then rallied from his twenty-third starting spot in the $50,000 to win ‘USA Nationals’ headliner to finish eleventh when the crown jewel Super Late Model race was halted by rain after only 56 circuits.  Full results from the big weekend in the Badger State can be found online by clicking on www.cedarlakespeedway.com.
