AUGUST 9, 2026 - - - A pair of $4,000 to win Structural Buildings WISSOTA Challenge Series contests greeted the Mars Racing team over the August 7-8 weekend. On Friday night at the nearby Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, Wisconsin, Sam Mars qualified sixth fastest in his group during the qualifying session before advancing to place fourth in his heat race. Sam was on the move again in the 40-lap feature, as the Menomonie ace moved up to finish eleventh in the final rundown.
At Rice Lake Speedway in Rice Lake, Wisconsin on Saturday evening, a huge 37 car field was on hand to battle it out for a $4,000 payday. Sam stopped the clock fourth quickest in his group during time trials prior to picking up an impressive heat race triumph. After rolling off from the inside of the fourth row in the 40-lapper, Sam unfortunately hit a hole while running the cushion, bent some steering components, and ultimately slipped to a fourteenth place effort.
