MAY 5, 2024 - - - The Mars Racing team kicked off the month of May at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin on May 3-4 with the annual running of the 'Dairyland Showdown.' Both World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series specials over the weekend at MTS boasted a $25,000 first place payday. On Friday night in the opener, Sammy Mars unfortunately missed out on the 50-lap headliner after finishing seventh in his loaded heat race and fourth in his B-Main.
With another $25,000 paycheck up for grabs on Saturday evening, Sammy timed in tenth quickest in Group B during the qualifying session prior to running fifth in his heat race. Following a B-Main triumph, the young Menomonie, Wisconsin ace was ultimately paid for an eighteenth place performance in the 50-lapper.
