MAY 11, 2025 - - - A pair of Structural Buildings WISSOTA Challenge Series events greeted the Mars Racing team over the May 9-10 weekend. On Friday night in a $3,000 to win battle at I-94 EMR Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, Sammy Mars clicked off the fastest time in his group during the qualifying session prior to running third in his heat race. After starting eighth on the grid, Sammy was advancing towards the front of the stellar field in the 40-lapper until he was deemed the cause of a caution flag on lap 32. The young Menomonie, Wisconsin ace then chose to retire from the event and was relegated to a disappointing eighteenth place showing.
At Viking Speedway in Alexandria, Minnesota on Saturday evening, another $3,000 paycheck was up for grabs with the WISSOTA Challenge Series. Sammy laid down the quickest lap in his group during time trials and later advanced to finish second in his heat race. After starting the 30-lap headliner from the outside of the second row, Sammy ultimately finished right where he started… in the fourth spot behind only victor Jeff Provinzino, Shane Sabraski, and Cole Searing!
